Nokia seems to ready themselves for making a solid comeback on the smartphone front this year. At MWC 2018, HMD Global presented a lot of interesting Nokia phones which are set to launch this year. These included the Nokia 6 (2018), the Nokia 1 Android Go smartphone, the Nokia 7 Plus and the flagship Nokia 8 Sirocco. However, the phone that really caught our attention was the Nokia 7 Plus Which lies in the mid-range price and is said to be a good phone which fills up the place between the budget Nokia 6 and the flagship Nokia 8 in just the right way. The speculations are in place that this device might come out in India in March 2018 or somewhere in the second quarter of the year.
This information comes after the launch of the phone in China where it is supposedly being said that the phone went out of stock after only a few minutes of being online because of high demands. We noticed that the Nokia 7 Plus debuted at the price of CNY 2,300 which comes to be somewhere around the price range of Rs 23,698 which is the price quoted for the 4GB/64GB internal storage model and the other variant which runs on 6GB/64GB internal storage is said to be selling for Rs 25,700. This gives us a pretty solid hint about the pricing of the phone in India, where it’s going to hover around Rs 23,000 for the 4GB model and around Rs 25,000 for the 6GB model.

It was noteworthy that the Chinese audience received the phone with great excitement and caused it to go out of stock in a matter of minutes. HMD Global has been launching its smartphones in India at the same prices of the Chinese market so we can assume the same with the Nokia 7 Plus. However, we haven’t seen a single Snapdragon 660 SoC smartphone launching in India, and it remains unknown if Qualcomm wants to bring that chipset to the Indian market.
Coming over to the specifications of the device, the Nokia 7 Plus has a 6-inch LCD plus full HD display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The phone runs on the powerful Snapdragon 660 processor and like we mentioned ships in two models – 4GB and 6GB both with 64GB internal storage.
But surely the company provides the option to expand storage to 256GB using a Micro SD card. However, there have been no official announcements from Nokia’s side to tell us if both the variants are going to be launched in India or not.
The Nokia runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, which is a good news since Nokia seems to be keeping up with the recent times. And the phone is part of Android One program, so expect some super fast Android updates. The battery of the phone is quite impressive, giving 3,800mAh of power. The company claims that the phone can have a stamina of 2 days with a single charge, which might be true since the 3,800mAh is certainly not meant for low performance.
Coming to speak about the camera on this phone, Nokia doesn’t fail to put up a good performing camera. The Nokia 7 Plus sports a dual camera setup, with ZEISS powered lenses allowing the phone to snap images with depth of field effects and also go to 2X optical zoom. The smartphone also has a 12-megapixel primary sensor with an aperture of f/1.75 and a secondary 13MP sensor with an aperture of f/2.6. Whereas on the front it has a 16MP camera with f/2.0 aperture again which is powered by ZEISS.
Overall, Nokia has made a very appealing phone judging by the performance, design and specifications of the device. Also, we are sure that it is worthy to be competing with the smartphones in the same price range. Now it is only a short time that Nokia launches the device in India and we get to see how well the phone is actually received in the country. But for the said price, the Nokia 7 Plus will sell like hot cakes in India
