Our report about Nokia 9 with in-display fingerprint sensor confirmed by a report from China.
We exclusively reported about a NOKIA 9 2018 on the HMD product roadmap with an in-display fingerprint sensor. Now, this has been confirmed by a trusted source from China, who has been behind many leaks in the past too. The source had leaked the Penta lens camera and new colours for Nokia 6 2018 that eventually came true.
But he also adds that HMD is also trying to maximize the display area on its 2018 flagships and it may result in it sporting a “notch”. We have seen iPhone X sporting an ugly notch earlier and it made many Android vendors following this as the new “cool thing” to do.
Recently Google pushed the first Android P Dev preview build and it supports the display notch. But the million Dollar question here is whether HMD that has so far has done great work in taking Nokia’s design legacy forward should ape an ugly trend.
Anyways, the good news is that we haven’t heard about a notch on any Nokia flagship from our sources yet. So, maybe this is a prototype thing and we really hope HMD finds a better way to maximize the display area than introducing the ugly notch that also hinders the basic functions of video watching.
